As Per A Couple Of Requests ~ Rusty Our Vicious Black & Tan Doberman

Most days I prefer the company of dogs over people. They're more honest.

The Life And Times Of Brian Waddington

A little of the back story? M'Lady and I are firm though not fanatical believers in non violence. We believe in talking things out and solving problems through give and take. However some of those who live near us have shown time and again that non violent problem solving is not possible where either or both parties are not reasonable and honest.

This is where Rusty comes in. There's nothing quite like a sixty or seventy pound Doberman straining at his leash to bring people to their senses. The trick is to train the Doberman to be kind and loving to 'others' who are also kind and loving and to only become threatening when provoked. It's a trick we managed with Cooper, our first Doberman.

So really look into Rusty's eyes and see both the latent kindness and the hidden violence. Such strength and tenderness in an eight and a half week old dog is scary. We have a heavy responsibility.

What you see within my eyes will be
 found within your heart

If you will watch the video I think you'll find that so far the tenderness and love is being well cultivated.
