 Netanyahu and his far-right governing coalition have many points in common with your garden variety terrorist organization. Certainly too many to list in this post. So, I'll just look at one of the many. They demand Total Victory.

Total Victory

Netanyahu and his right-wing terrorist coalition are going for total victory over Hamas. They want Hamas wiped off the map. They will show no mercy and take no prisoners. And if they also get to kill every innocent Palestinian while achieving their goal, even better. For the record, this places them in the same camp as Hamas who are quite happy to kill every Israeli to achieve their version of total victory.

Important Aside:

Try this mind game: Replace every mention of N and his right-wing coalition with Hamas. You just might come to the same conclusion I have. In essence, both groups are the same.

  The Big Problem With Total Victory

It is only possible to achieve total victory by exterminating not only all of 'them' but also all of 'us'.

I know that sounds a little strange but bear with me.

Every time you kill one of 'them' you create at least one more 'them' who will pick up a gun and come after you and yours. (take a look at any and every blood feud in any and every culture) 

Following this truth to its logical conclusion you end up with the last person on your side killing the last person on their side and the final killer gets to die alone of old age and disease with no one to mourn her passing. 

To my way of thinking, not a particularly glorious or satisfying Total Victory.

 A Better Option: ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

Instead of offering your enemy death and destruction which as shown above leads to a final solution no sane person could possibly desire, how about offering your enemy the following blessing from your heart.

“Peace be upon you, as well as the mercy of God and His blessings.”

For Jews, Christians and Muslims this in not a new idea. All of their sacred scriptures and wisdom literatures contain this ideal way of life. Indeed, this belief is found in many faiths. Found but rarely lived. 

Conclusion

 It is an oft forgotten truth that those who sow the wind reap the whirlwind. Another oft forgotten truth is that to constantly repeat the same action hoping for a different consequence is one of the markers of insanity.

So, how about we, you and me, us, remember the old wisdom, repent of our stupidity, kick out the terrorists and begin to live Sala, Shalom, Peace!

The future of our loved ones depends upon our choice.
