Ireland, Israel, America, Canada, France: The lesson Is The Same: Only People Of Good Will Create Security

800 police on the street and the rooftops reacted to but could not stop the shooters. So much for the theory that good people with guns stop bad people with guns.

Violence will only end when Society says that violence is unacceptable. Two examples, smoking and driving under the influence.
This is not security it is just faster reaction time.

Israel was attacked by terrorists even though they had built a wall and had world class surveillance. Ireland during the 'Troubles' had serious police and military on the street. Canada has had mass shootings even with tight gun laws. France has a powerful police and military and riots in the streets. The lesson to be learned is:

A heavily armed and highly trained police and military on the streets, rooftops and borders will never guaranty security. All they can offer is a faster response time.

Security can only be created when a society lives 'Altruistic Selfishness'.

In a nutshell, if you ensure that your neighbor has a good life, she or he is a lot less likely to try to take your good life away. The Irish Troubles came about (in part) because one side wanted what the other side had. The legal immigrants in France want what the naturally born have. Israel creates the world's largest unroofed prison in the world and is surprised when the inmates' using terror tactics successfully rebel against their jailers.

What I am talking about is certainly radical, but it is not new. Buddha shared this message about 2500 years ago. The Torah which became widespread in Judaism about 2400 years ago has the same message. Sikhism and Hinduism also teach that looking after the 'other' is crucial for harmony. Christianity and Islam also share this essential teaching.

They all teach 'Altruistic Selfishness' but we rarely live it. Which is why we have the world we have.

Security Only Comes From

A Good Heart

Not A Gun!
