To: Family And Friends / Bamboo V Hollow Block Wall

 August 20, 2024,

August 20, 2024, Mother Nature wins again It was just after night fall when I heard the sounds. First a few snaps and then, a soft muffled explosion followed by what resembled ever so much a rockslide. Naturally this piqued my curiosity. I picked up my flashlight, called the dogs and out we went to see what we could see. Once outside we turned to the right and walked behind the house. Everything seemed alright until I lifted the flashlight beam to the hollow block wall. Where there once was a wall there was now mostly giant butong bamboo. In our defense we have been looking for someone to cut back the bamboo for more than a year. But with our well-earned reputation as hard taskmasters and the local greed and laziness we just never found the right people. Skipping to the bottom line. This morning, and I mean about 06:00 in the morning, M'Lady and I were out filling in the gap between bamboo and wall to keep the neighbors' dogs out and our clogs in. When Min showed up, we arranged a more permanent solution. Permanent enough to last until M'Lady can hire a work crew from Dumaguete. Correction, I was sitting in my electric scooter not my wheelchair. Brian
Mother Nature wins again
It was just after night fall when I heard the sounds.
