To Friends And Family ~ Pre Coffee Confusion Runs Deep

Hi, today started off with a tad more confusion than normal. Here’s the headline that confused me, plus a hint. It comes from France 24.

 “Pope says watchful pursuit proves England are not 'one-dimensional'”

My reaction was to wonder just what in blazes the Pope was talking about. I powerfully resisted the urge to check out the story until I asked M’lady if she understood the headline any better than I did. She replied in the negative, so it was time to read the story behind the headline.

It wasn’t about Pope Frances, it was about England's cricket team and how it could play the game in any number of ways. I have been told, but until now had never believed, multiple stories about how deep the game of cricket is.

But if a simple headline confuses me, I shudder at the thought of exploring the murky depths of the rules and regs plus the unwritten laws of the game.
