Some Like City Lights We Prefer Moonlight
When the moon is full, the owls will gather in the trees to visit and feed
Mysterium tremendum et fascinans |
A few years back, when the moon was full and the karaokes' were silent, I heard the owls. I decided to wander through the garden with hopes of spotting them. Sitting in the lower branches of our trees were at least one family of owls. I gently walked back to the house and got M'lady to come out.
As the gods would have it, she stopped directly beneath a family of owls. She and the owls communed for a few minutes. When the time was right, she silently walked away and we both returned to the house.
Our community was not always as nice as it is now. There was a time when a deadly, violent gang ruled, where now peace dominates. Many a night, I would silently wait in our yard with my bolo to see if anyone would try to make good on the death threats. Thankfully, they never did.
I won't bore you with the details, long story short: Over the years the grandmothers and mothers took back their power. The gang was defeated, and the death threats stopped.
We are far from the Garden of Eden, but most of the people here try to live in peace and harmony. Give and take, governed by justice, mercy and occasionally true humility rather than fear and intimidation are the new normal.
Gaza, Lebanon, Haifa, Ukraine, Sudan... the list is oppressively long of places where when you look up you are more likely to see missiles than owls. M'Lady and I have experienced what may happen when the Divine Feminine Power rules rather than the Power Of Death and Destruction found within the Divine Masculine Power.
Islam and Christianity are Judaism's offspring. All three faiths have become dominated by the Divine Masculine. All three are now religions of war and destruction.
It's time to return to the roots and sit at the feet of Lady Wisdom. It's time to learn what she offers to teach.
Or, we stay on the path we have walked for centuries and continue our descent into the Abyss. You choose!
