Planning a new series: possible title ~ 'how did we get to where we are' (Update)

Percolating my thoughts is always a good idea.The new series has taken a new direction. Less academia and more healing. The new title should give you the needed insights as to what this series is now about. 

The Lost Heart of God: Reclaiming the Nurturing Feminine

In small words and short sentences: God has no body. God has no sexual equipment. God has no gender.

Still and all God is usually referred to in male terminology.

Even Jesus, as radical as he was, got no further than the equivalent of Papa or dad. Anyone who talks to my wife we'll be told categorically that I am not a feminist. What I am is a Peoplist. I believe that while we have different physical bodies we are none of us any better than the other because of our gender or our sexual equipment.

The Abrahamic world is a world of oppression, subjugation, violence, and war.

And it is also a world dominated by a male image of God. One of my beliefs is that the only way to change this is to begin to see God as both perfectly male and perfectly female. God must be seen as the totality of both.

We need to honor the Divine Feminine and the Feminine Divine if we are to have a more peaceful world.

Even the most surface reading of the synoptic gospels will lead a person to see in Jesus all of the best of the qualities that modern Christianity, Judaism, and Islam see as feminine.

 

It's my hope that by taking a deep dive into the history of the masculine God in the Abrahamic faiths I can start a conversation that will help to bring a recognition of the feminine God that is also found in the Abrahamic faiths. Found, but rarely acknowledged.
