(science warning) Giant Butong Intra-Nodal Region

Bamboo has an incredible number of uses. One of the better uses for me is that it is photogenic.

The following close up is the intra-nodal region of Giant Butong Bamboo. I believe, but don't bet your soul on my belief, that the intra-nodal region has to do with new roots.

Giant Butong bamboo can grow 12" in a day. It has a multitude of uses. Not the least of which is that it is photogenic.
