Shalom This Did Not Create: Let them have dominion...

We were given Dominion and abused our power.

In both Jewish and Christian sacred scriptures you will find the following:

Genesis 1:26-28 King James Version (KJV)

²⁶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
²⁷ So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
²⁸ And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Humanity has not been very gung-ho  over much of the Judaeo / Christian sacred scriptures but we took the above passage seriously to heart. We took the Royal Prerogative that was offered to us and for give or take 5,000 years have messed with Mother Nature. The result is Global Warming / Climate Change.

Scientists have been warning us for generations that trouble was coming. Because of our greed we ignored them.

Years, no decades ago, I was Covenanted by the United Church of Canada to proclaim the prophetic word of God by my actions, by my faith and by my preaching. Undoubtedly I failed in all three areas. Nevertheless I'm going to give it one more try.

For @5,000 years humans have been raping our Mother. We have ripped her open, tore out her innards, polluted the waters that are her blood and darkened the skies with our filth.

Now she is fighting back. Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Thunder and Lightning, Floods, Earthquakes, Tsunamis are the weapons she has unsheathed. She's doing her best to vomit us out just as a person with the flu vomits out the bile in their stomach.

She will not stop until she has cleansed herself from the filth we have created. In the process life as we know it will be changed.

Hopefully, but not at all likely, humanity will learn the lesson we have not yet learned.

The dominion we have been granted must be a dominion of love, wisdom and compassion. Not the dominion of greed.
