Forgiveness

Augustine of Hippo

“Forgiveness is the remission of sins. For it is by this that what has been lost, and was found, is saved from being lost again.”

 St. Augustine of Hippo

I knew a man who was never able to forgive his father. Though there were times he could find what had been lost, he never managed to hold onto the treasure.

Sooner rather than later the fear, hatred and need for vengeance would surface and distort his life.

We often talked of his inability to forgive and the pain this caused to himself and to those he loved.  Still and all he never managed to complete the journey.

May I wish you more success. Tis a long, hard and dangerous journey. Others may walk with you but none can walk for you.

Does she forgive me for ending her life?
