We like Roses

“What a lovely thing a rose is!”

Arthur Conan Doyle

What's not to love?

 Roses are quite the contradiction.

Incredibly delicate.

Blood drawing sharp and tough.

A multitude of colors and scents.

From itsy bitsy teeny weeny to the size of a big handed woman's palm.

Over the years there have been many roses in our garden. Of late not so many.

Even with, or perhaps because of the Beast that is currently ravaging the world we have decided to replant our roses.

Why you ask. Because in this time of sorrow we feel a need for more beauty in our lives.

If you feel the same need you could do worse than to plant a rose or two.

All it takes is a pot with a hole for drainage. Even an old broken cooking pot will do.

Some soil. A cutting from a rose bush and a bit of direct sunlight.

Enjoy,

Brian
