It's An Insane And Dark World So Here's Some Brightness
Some days you just got to swing out of bed and move into your easy chair so you can let the world roll on without you.
The Life And Times Of Brian Waddington
Woke up this morning to find out that an American Governor was using the National Guard as her own private band of mercenaries. And from there the day went downhill as we had another of our semi regular brown outs. Not that the day was a total waster. Truth be told it was really pretty good. It just didn't involve me and the outside world via our WiFi.
Some of the good news.
- I put together an exceptionally tasty dinner of roast pork, potatoes, chick peas, chives and seasoning. Plus I had the good sense to make enough for two meals.
- we got once again to use our propane stove that we keep outside. It comes in handy for both hot days and brown outs.
- we aren't living in B.C. Canada which lately makes our tropical climate seem positively cool. Gotta love global warming.
- the vet showed up to give Rusty a multi shot and de-worming pill. Seems that Rusty has doubled his weight in the last three weeks and now tops the scales at about twenty-two pounds.
- continuing the K-9 theme; Rusty has started barking. He likes to face down the geese at the gate and then go to his hiding spot where he barks at them just to make them crazy.
- talking about geese; they have started laying again so it's fresh eggs for us for a while. This is very good because there are usually one or two bad eggs per dozen when you buy them at the local shopping mall.
- our fish are doing great and by December we should have enough to enjoy their taste.
- our tree trimming and grass transplanting is working nicely. Give it another three months and we will be mowing our lawn and feeding the geese the clippings.
- I managed to get outside for some photography. The close-up macro shots of the dragonfly were pretty much a bust but I got some nice yard shots.
- talking of yard shots here one that I rather like. I call it 'Moss'.
I never thought I'd be in one place long enough to grow moss! |
