In The Garden

Last year was good. This year? One can only hope.

Experience

Even as a child I had naturally wavy hair and good looks.

Grandad Jim looked after his yard. Flowers growing up along the back fence, a well manicured lawn and all of the little details that made up his idea of the perfect yard. I have the same desire to live in a perfect garden. Though my ideal and his are truly different. And that is undoubtedly as it should be. If we were all the same what a boring place this would be.

Onto the news.We have two varieties of beans gracing our table, papaya, leafy greens, fish, fresh goose eggs, green onions and assorted herbs. A good start to the year.

We were considering another fish pond. But a serious reality cheque made us reconsider. We weren't sure we'd have enough water. So, we will be using that area for a massive compost pile. We aren't truly organic but we don't use chemical fertilizer.

The ladies have some plans of their own and if they would let me in on them I'd pass them on. A surprise is always nice.

Brian
