"Your answer will go a long way to defining Justice, Mercy and Humility in your life." The Life And Times Of Brian Waddington

All of us live on and within the 'Web of Life'. The best of us find ways to do good and if they can' find a way to do good they look for ways to do no harm. The worst of us don't give a fiddler's fart on a windy day about the others. They don't care who they hurt just so long as they're okay. Most of us, myself included, fall somewhere in the middle.

Scenario 1

In your village lives an old woman who has outlived all of her family. Too old and weak to be of use to the village you take her upriver to a small cabin where she will slowly die during the winter. Good(?) for the village but not so good for the old woman?

The alpha male of the wolf pack on whose land the village had built the dying cabin took exception to the villagers meanness. Throughout the winter his pack shared their food and warmth. The old woman survived and became the First Matriarch of the new Wolf Clan.

Were the wolves or the villagers the force for evil in this story?

Scenario 2

You and all those whom you love live in a garden and walk with the Gods. All is joy and well being. No sickness, death, pain or tears. Perfection.

One day you find yourself wandering down a new path. You begin to notice dead flowers, rotting fruit, dead animals and very faintly, a horrible wailing.

You follow the sound until you're standing before a solid cube of cement with one small window high up in a wall. Suddenly one of the Gods is standing beside you and She begins to explain.

Within the cube lives one single solitary child. He's fed once a week though the high window. Never does he see the sun, feel a fresh breeze, have a full stomach or friends to talk and play with. His life is a life of total misery and constant pain.

It is this child's pain and horror that creates the ballance for all of the beauty that you and yours live in.

Do you return to your friends and family as if nothing has happened? Do you exchange places with the child? Do you leave Paradise?

In your life today who or what are you loyal too and how do you define Justice, Mercy, Humility?
