Some said 'it's just a once in a thousand-year event'. If that was true someone needs to explain why the B.C. government is about to spend $10 Million on air con for the vulnerable. 

Two lessons to be learned.

(1) Global warming is real and it's deadly. Humanity had the knowledge and the resources to turn global warming around, but we chose greed and stupidity. So, we continued to fuel the engines of global warming. With the only possible result, it's getting hotter, nastier and deadlier.

(2) The rich will pay for this greed and stupidity with their money. The poor will pay with their lives.

Here's a heat dome:

Basically it's the lid on the pot that traps the heat. A big and nasty heat dome will make it so hot that people and animals will die from heat stroke.
