Time To See The Russian / Ukrainian / NATO War For What It Really Is ~ The First 21st Century European Resource War

Before the war Ukraine was ranked #7 world wide for grain exports. Whoever controls the Ukraine has a serious power lever to use in world politics.

The Ukraine is a major source of grain for around 400 million people. Whatever power block controls the Ukraine has a serious power lever to use in world politics. The Life And Times Of Brian Waddington
The European 21st C. Resource Wars Have Begun

Resource power will become more and more prevalent as the world population grows. If Russia can gain control of Ukrainian grain they will almost double the amount of grain they directly control. This will mean greater food security for Russia, less food security for the nations that are dependent on what is now Ukrainian grain and will guaranty Russia a huge stick to use in world power politics.

Just in case you think I'm on another silly rant... consider Sweden and Finland. Since at least World War Two they have both been fiercely independent. But once the Russian / Ukrainian / NATO War began they both quickly joined NATO. Why? Possibly because they are the only European nations known to have  significant Cobalt resources.

Cobalt, for those who don't know, is what makes electric batteries possible. Did they fear that Putin was casting a covetous eye towards their Cobalt? I think so.

As one of my favourite authors puts it 'The games afoot'. It seems to me that Putin, aka 'The Czar', is willing to build up his fiefdom with the blood of his serfs just the way the old Russian Czars did. Some things never change.
