Doing A Little Web Surfing

Some things confound and confuse me. 

 

 There are many ongoing situations that puzzle me.

Here are but a few of them.

Canada has chosen to fund 'gender inclusive mine clearing' in the Ukraine. Apparently women around the world and in the Ukraine are being oppressed and mine clearing will put their future into their own hands, so to speak.

Israel claims that they are supplying all the food and medicines that are needed in Gaza. According to the United Nations;

And here we are, at the end of February, with at least 576,000 people in Gaza –one-quarter of the population – one step away from famine; with 1 in 6 children under 2 years of age in northern Gaza suffering from acute malnutrition and wasting; and practically the entire population of Gaza left to rely on woefully inadequate humanitarian food assistance to survive. Unfortunately, as grim as the picture we see today is, there is every possibility for further deterioration.

Military operations, insecurity, and extensive restrictions on the entry and delivery of essential goods have decimated food production and agriculture.

Perhaps Israel uses a different dictionary? and their definition of 'needed' is our definition of 'starvation rations'? 

Final confusion for today. Canada is building a pipeline that will carry Tar Sands oil to the west coast. Seems someone still thinks it's a good idea to sell the world's dirties carbon-based fuel to Asia. Apparently, there is a belief that global warming is just a good opportunity to make a buck as the world boils.
