In The Garden ~ It's Durian Season

Our neighbors have let their land turn fallow or perhaps wild might be a better term. Personally, we prefer wild nature for a neighbor because Wild Nature is so much easier to live with than wild humans.

Immature Dorian

I took the shot with my cell phone. The quality is a little lacking, but it matches the following video. The important things to note are:

  • the tomatoe is about 1 1/2 inches across
  • the Durian is very young and came down in last night's heavy rain
  • when the others on the tree mature, they will weigh in at about 2 kilos
  • the spikes will be hard, sharp, and close enough for spitting to two inches long
  • when ripe they will be falling from a height of about 25 meters
  • our dogs run free
We have already built a roof over one of our water tanks. I'm thinking we need a fence to keep our dogs safe!
