Houston We have Lift Off ~ Red Hot Red Chili Peppers

Patience is not only a virtue it is a necessity for a gardener.

Patience is not only a virtue it is a necessity for a gardener. These are smoking hot! Over a year ago, we cut back two chili pepper plants. There had been almost zero blossoms and only three peppers. They grew back nicely and developed many blossoms but no fruit. So, off to the web. Turns out that chili peppers are cross-pollinated and need the help of insects. Then the garden spoke: Move the plants to where the kiwoot are! Long story short, I had a chat with the kiwoot, they realized that they enjoyed the nectar of chili peppers, and we now have dozens of ripening peppers. In time, many more will be red and smoking hot. When that happens, there will be homemade, diabetically approved, red-hot, Tabasco sauce in the fridge, and after we dry some of these exquisite peppers, chili flakes for our cooking. All of this is happening because of patience and open ears. It may sound a little strange to city dwellers, but once our garden decided we were worth talking to, we have had the yard that we needed. Not always the one we wanted, but always the one we needed. The Bringer Of the Gentle Wind
