Table Talk 2.0
December 28, 2024,
Friends and family, my last letter pointed out what I consider to be a basic human truth. Trauma requires multi generational healing. If there is inadequate healing time, nasty things will happen to a society or an individual. I also pointed out that during the 20th Century, there was no time for trauma healing.
Are we all traumatized past the point of healing? |

Caveat
Before anyone or everyone decides that I'm anti-Palestinian or anti-Zionist or anti-Semitic, take another look at this letter and notice I'm not taking sides I'm just stating the historically accurate facts with no rah, rah sis boom bah yeah my side thrown in.
I'm also stating here and now that since at least the rise of Christianity as a major world political force, people of the Jewish faith have been discriminated against. Culminating in the horror of the Nazi genocide that slaughtered 6,000,000+- Jews. And by the bye, the Holocaust occurred just about smack-dab in the middle of the 20th Century.
Substantiating My Belief
Take another look at the timeline. Since 1917 there have been at least 12 deeply traumatizing violent events in what some call Palestine and others call the Holy land. This time period embraces five generations. By my calculations, 12 events that traumatize an entire people need a minimum of 240 years for healing to occur.
I don't find it at all surprising that one side has resorted to terrorist attacks to fight for freedom, while the other side has decided to embrace genocide as a way to move forward to peace.
Today's Conclusion
At this point and time, I find myself in agreement with Kant. When both sides in a war fight without honour, the inevitable and necessary outcome will be the annihilation of both sides. I also find myself leaning heavily towards answering the question that scares me in the affirmative. Humanities new goto solution is, violence solves all problems.
