God's Eye

 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.

On a trip to Southern California an early Mission Church caught my attention. Walking inside I saw the most amazing sight. Painted above the alter wasn't the expected crucifixion scene. 

Above the alter, floating in the clouds was one large and very frightening eye. Later I found out that it was intended to remind people that God always had one eye on  them. Now that's a sobering thought.
