Good News

Hi friends and family,

A few days back, Min and I spotted a new banana blossom and I spotted a baby Box turtle. Why, you may well ask yourself, is that 'Good News'?  

October 3, 2024 Hi friends and family, A few days back, Min and I spotted a new banana blossom and I spotted a baby Box turtle. Why, you may well ask yourself, is that 'Good News'? It's Good News for a few reasons. First and foremost is that we have been trying for years to get a breeding program for Box turtles going in our garden. Over the years, we have noticed a continuous growth in the size of the local Box turtles. I have even seen two turtles together in the same pond. But none of us have ever spotted two turtles breeding. There has also been a dearth of baby turtle spottings. Which means, or at least I hope it means, that the baby turtle comes from our breeding program and that our breeding program is a success! The second reason that I have proclaimed 'Good News' is quite simply that I seriously enjoy eating bananas. I must also give a hats off to Microsoft Image Creator. It has taken my simple prompt and created quite a menacing, almost dystopian image of our Good News. When I ponder on the idea that every blessing brings its own curse, the image makes a great deal of sense to this old man's mind. Brian
