As A Lighthouse Keeper I Had The Time To Check My News Sources.

Hi friends and family,

As the junior keeper, my watch was the night watch. One of the ways I stayed awake was listening to short wave broadcasts from around the world.

December 4, 2024 Hi friends and family, As the junior keeper, my watch was the night watch. One of the ways I stayed awake was listening to short wave broadcasts from around the world. I wasn't quite this old nor so thin, but you get the idea I quickly came to realize that the same event could be reported from many different angles. Think of it as seeing the same image through the different facets of a superbly cut large diamond. Every facet shows a slightly different image, and only by looking through multiple facets can you piece together the true image. Which is why to this day I still search through a multitude of sources. Admittedly, not through short wave. But the web offers each and every one of us the same ability. The trick is to find the bias of each news source and balance one bias against the other. Al Jazeera, BBC, CBC, DW, France 24,and MEE are my goto sources. I find the biases balance out nicely. Which brings me to the point of this posting. If you goto my home page, you find three horizontal bars in the top left corner. Click on them and the hidden side panel opens. There you will find (amongst other things) direct links to my favourite news sources and a contact form. It can never hurt to broaden your info base. Brian
