Kant, M'Lady And I Agree That Fighting With Honor Is Essential For A Peaceful Relationship
December 4, 2024
Hi one and all.
In Kant's philosophical essay 'Perpetual Peace' Kant makes the point that M'lady, and I realized when we first met. You have got to interact with honour, or you end up in big time troubles. Thirty+ years later, one of the cornerstones of our wonderful marriage is that we have always fought / argued with honour.

Ukraine has decided that they will deploy landmines supplied by America. China has resorted to ramming Philippine ships in the South China / West Philippines Sea. Israel is attacking hospitals and refugee camps. Iran is arming and supporting terrorist groups. Sudan is in an ugly civil war that is as bloody and immoral as the war in Gaza. The list goes on, but I'm sure you get the idea.
None of these wars will result n peace because they are being fought without honour. How can you trust an enemy that slaughters the innocent? How can you trust an enemy that assassinates one person and kills dozens as collateral damage?
Answer; you can't and without trust there can never be Peace. So, let me make an obvious suggestion?
To bring about Peace, all sides need to begin to build trust. This can only be done by starting to fight with honour. Once the enemies can trust each other in war, then and only then will they be able to trust the other to be honourable and trustworthy in Peace.
