Near 40 Down In the City 35 Up Here On The Sleeping Volcano

I'm one of the seniors that they tell to keep out of the heat.

This is not an oh woe is me post. It is an explanation for posts fewer in number and lesser in originality. The facts are simple. I'm 73 with multiple health problems that do not handle excessive heat well. Excessive heat is what has been on the menu for more than a month. El Niño has combined with global warming to create global boiling throughout much of Southeast Asia. And that is exactly where we live. Little by little, since Easter, the thermometer has been steadily going up. Once it passed 30C I started having problems. Last night M'Lady went to the fridge, got out some ice cubes, went to the wardrobe and got a facecloth, came back to bed and spent 15 or 20 minutes giving me an icy rubdown to get my temperature down. It worked. For the record, we have a well-ventilated house, nestled under overarching giant bamboo that keeps us in constant shade. We don't have air con because we've never needed it... at least not till now. Maybe we find more natural ways to cool the house? Maybe before next years record breaking hot season we get air con? Time will tell. But for now it is time for fewer blogs and less imagination as i swirl around in my dizziness. Brian
